Christopher Bryan Quinn, age 54, passed away after battling a long illness on October 12, 2015.
Born in Somerdale, New Jersey, he grew up in the Akron area and graduated from Stow High School. Christopher relocated to Georgia and had moved back to Ohio four years ago. He was employed with Kimberly Clark for 25 years, and attended Greenwood Christian Church. An active sports player in his youth, Christopher went on to coach several sports and also enjoyed golfing. He traveled all over the world for his employer, a favorite spot being Australia. Christopher also loved spending time at the ocean and being with his family, and he had a special love for animals.
Preceded in death by his father, Edward; he is survived by his wife, Carrie; sons, Shaun, Robert, Mitchell, Blair, Jay and Ryan; daughter, Holly; grandchildren, Lucas and Harley; mother, Rose Etta; in-laws, David and Kay Shank; brothers, Edward, Joseph (Robin), Robert (Mary) and Kevin (Karen); sisters, Rosemary (Larry) Hayes, Bernadette (Steven) Leonard, Jacqueline (William) Kennedy, Jennifer (Adam) Vanderbunt and Monica (Wylie) Newton; sister-in-law, Amy Vargo; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Christopher’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Aaron Gerds for all of his kindness and care.
Friends and family will be received Sunday, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW, UNIONTOWN, Ohio 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.), where funeral service will be held Monday, 11 a.m. with Tony Amerine officiating. Interment will follow at East Nimishillen Cemetery. A separate memorial service will be held at a later date in Georgia.
