Christopher Jay Marcinkoski, age 68, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2021. He was born on July 28, 1952 to the late John and Ann Marcinkoski.
Chris grew up in the Ellet area and attended Hotchkiss and Goodyear Middle School. He spent his entire career working with Weaver Workshops and landscaping companies where he was greatly supported by staff and built lasting friendships.
Chris had a big heart and touched everyone he came into contact with; he truly never met a stranger. He loved helping people and was always willing to jump in and lend a helping hand.
He participated as an athlete in the Special Olympics for decades and played on the Weaver Warriors basketball team. Chris loved to travel! One of his favorite places to go was Frankenmuth, MI to see Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland. He loved the outdoors, whether it be working on projects, planting flowers, or just enjoying the view.
Chris was “little brother” to Richard (Deb) of Charlotte, NC and “big brother” to Roger (Barbara) of Akron, Philip (Kim) of Medina, and Teresa Oden of Ellet. He will be greatly missed by his very special friend, Lenore Flynn, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
We love you brother! Give mom and dad a hug for us!
Friends and Family will be received Thursday, June 10th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road Akron, Ohio 44312. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 11th, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
