Christina Louise (May) Kuntzman, 49, of Suffield, passed away peacefully in her home Monday, December 18th, surrounded by her loved ones after a valiant but too quick fight against cancer.
She was born April 30th, 1974, in Akron, Ohio to James and Barbara (Strahlem) May. Chris grew up in Rootstown, Ohio, and loved being the star of any show, and the boss of anyone that would listen! Her talent abounded in singing, theater, twirling and softball. Chris was diagnosed at 15 years old with Lupus. She refused to give up and fought back. She graduated from Rootstown High School in 1992 as her class Valedictorian and then attended The Ohio State University and graduated as an Occupational Therapist. She has since used her degree to help hundreds of patients overcome their obstacles. She was active with the Portage County Fair Board, the Suffield Lions Club and the Boy Scouts and was always the first to volunteer to help out! She married David Kuntzman after their whirlwind fair romance, and they have 3 beautiful children that she was so proud of. Chris loved her family, her friends, her kitties, and ALWAYS had a book in her hand.
Christina is survived by her forever fair king husband of 25 years, David; adored children Kayla, Dillon and Sarah; parents James and Barbara (Strahlem) May; Siblings Julia (Michael) Maseth and James (Cindy) May; Grandfather James May; In-Laws Dan and Dianne (Hook) Kuntzman; Sibling In-Laws Richard (Amy) Kuntzman, Danielle (Scott) Heaton, Dale (Heitor Tavares) Kuntzman, and Pat (Kristen) Kuntzman; dear nieces and nephews Colton Maseth, JT and Charlie May, Jayden Kuntzman, Jesse and Becca Heaton, Johnny Smith; many aunts, uncles cousins and so many dear friends and co-workers that loved her dearly.
