Charlotte Hennessey, age 96, passed away peacefully in her home on December 31, 2021 surrounded and attended to by family. Charlotte was born in Akron, Ohio and grew up in the St. Leger and Goodyear Heights areas. She was a graduate of East High School and was a faithful employee of Goodyear for over 41 years.
Charlotte was an avid quilter joining many quilting guilds in the Akron area. She was a member of Peace by Piece Quilters, Portage Patchers Quilt Guild, Cascade Quilt Guild, and Kiss Quilt Guild. She was such a fixture that Kiss Quilt Guild was formed to ensure that Charlotte wouldn't have to drive at night and would still be able to enjoy the fellowship of the group. Charlotte loved quilting and her quilting circles; enjoyed spending time with her dear friends, Shirley and Lee; and adored her family. She was also a proud member of the Goodyear Heights Presbyterian Church for approximately 80 years.
Charlotte is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Hennessey; parents, Alice Delmora Eckfeld and Loran Emerson Alspach. She had seven sisters and four brothers and is survived by sister, Sandra Lucas and brother Edgar "Tim" Alspach; daughters, Cheryl R. "Becky" Cochran and Laura R. Rees; grandchildren, Jeffrey Cochran, Jaime Paris, Jason Cochran, and Brian Fielders; and great-grandchildren, Mason, Matthew, Boden, Mitchell, and Max Cochran, Jayla Fielders, and Zachary Paris.
Friends and family will be received beginning at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM. Burial will occur at Hillside Memorial Park in Akron, Ohio.
