Charles "Buddy" Lancaster

Charles “Buddy” Lancaster, 79, went home to be with the Lord, April 27, 2014 surrounded by his family.

He was raised in Elk Garden, WV and made his home in the Akron area where he lived most of his life. Charles retired from both the General Tire Company and Eagle Elastomer. He was a former Cub Master and attended Akron Springfield Assembly of God. Charles enjoyed repairing cars and motorcycles.

Preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters. He is survived by his wife of 53 years,Alverda; sons, Terry, and Gary (Lisa); daughter, Stacie (Bret) Pendergast; grandchildren, Gabrielle, Brandi, Courtney, Corwin and Drew; three great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday and 12-1 p.m. Friday at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44312. A memorial service will be held Friday 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Rob Seymour from Mogadore Baptist Church officiating. Private burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at the family’s convenience. The family suggests memorials to the Ronald McDonald House of Akron, 245 Locust Street, Akron, Ohio 44302.
