Charles "Mike" Day

Mike Day, age 69, passed away August 21, 2021. Born in Akron, he lived in the area his entire life and graduated from North High School. Mike enjoyed classic rock and watching drag racing. He enjoyed watching his grandson play baseball and his granddaughter swim. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Charles R. and Lorraine Day, and his brother, James Day. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Lou Day; daughters, Stacey (Danny) Millward, Carey (Adam) Jocek, Melissa (Brad) Clifford; grandchildren, Dominic Millward and Lena Clifford; brother-in-law, Tom (Barb) Goila; and many loving nieces and nephews. Memorials are suggested to the Safety Forces Support Center\, 501 W. Market St. Akron, OH 44313. Friends and family will be received on Thursday, August 26th from 5 to 8 p.m at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road, Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. A funeral service will be held Friday, August 27th at 12 p.m. with one hour of visitation starting at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Be comfortable and wear your best rock and roll shirt and jeans in honor of Mike.
