Carolyn G. "Carol" Burnette

Carolyn G. “Carol” Burnette, age 79, went home to be with the Lord on February 19, 2018. Born in Indiana, she lived in Akron for the last 51 years after moving here in 1967. Carol retired from the Akron Baptist Temple, where she was also a member. She worked in the book store and as a secretary, and was also active with the Nursing Home Ministry and choir. Carolyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Wilkerson and sister, Dorothy. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Charles R.; son, David (Janice); step children, Mike (Betty) and Sheila (Michael); grandchildren, Brooke (James) Valentine and Raymond Wilkerson; great-grandchildren, Jordynne, Titan, Rocky, Tinley, Charlie and Jett; brothers, Delbert (Juanita) and William (Nancy); and sister, Alice. Family and friends will be received Thursday, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW (one block NW of the square of 619 and Cleveland Ave.), UNIONTOWN, Ohio 44685. Funeral Service will be held Friday, 12 noon, with visitation starting at 11 a.m., at Barberton First Baptist Church, 254 6th Street NW, Barberton, Ohio 44203 with Pastors Ernie Kemppel and Dallas Billington officiating.
