Carol Jean Kling, 93, went home to be with the Lord on March 18 surrounded by her loving family.
Carol spent her entire life in Akron and was a 1947 graduate of North High School. In addition to being a loving mother and homemaker, she was previously employed at Klaben Buick in Kent.
Carol was a member of Oak Hill Presbyterian Church in Ellet and served as a deacon for many years. Along with her passion for family and church, Carol enjoyed skiing, card games, the daily Wordle and golf. She was proud of her hole in one on the old Valley View golf course in Akron.
Carol will be remembered as an extremely loving, sweet faithful woman with an incredible wit and sense of humor.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Robert Kling, and her brother, Richard Hood.
She was a loving mother to her daughters, Susan Gross and Melodi Shenigo (Mark Halterman). She cherished her four grandchildren, Alicia (Scott) Margroff, Douglas (Julie) Foltz, Jennifer Shenigo and Matthew (Natalie) Shenigo; nine great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends and family will be received Thursday, March 23rd from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44312. A memorial service will be held Friday, March 24th at 11:30 a.m. at Oak Hill Presbyterian Church, 2406 Ardwell Ave. Akron, OH 44312.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Carol’s name to Oak Hill Presbyterian Church.
