Carol Babbitt

Carol Babbitt, age 76, passed away on December 10, 2013.

She was born in Meadville, Pa., and graduated from Cochranton High School. Carol was a member of St. Hippolytes Catholic Church in Guys Mills, Pa. She enjoyed reading and knitting, and was an avid Steelers football fan. Carol volunteered at various agencies in Meadville, but her passion was Women’s Services; she spent ten years as a volunteer and loved “her women”. Most of all, Carol enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and being with her family.

Preceded in death by her husband, Don Babbitt; mother and father, Alice and Merle Dunn; brothers, Dick, Tommy and Jimmy; and sister, Mary Lou “Sis” Kightlinger, she is survived by son, Marc (Dawn) Babbitt; daughters, Terri (Jay) Bell and Babs (Sam) Smith; grandchildren, Sean (Allison) and Drew Babbitt (fiancée, Stephanie Fry), Ryan and Samantha Smith, Jordan and Lauren Bell; great-grandson, Elijah Babbitt; brother, John (Sandy) Dunn; and sister, Lynn (John) Wentworth.

Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 21 at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 34 S. Cleveland Avenue (Route 532), MOGADORE, Ohio 44260 with Commissioned Lay Preacher Rose Hilliard officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, December 20 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to your local Battered Women’s Shelter.
