Carlo M. Palmieri, 94, passed peacefully on October 12, 2021. He was born in Anzio, Italy in 1927 and came to America as a young man. He was a successful businessman and builder working on many notable buildings in the area. One of his greatest joys was receiving a medal from an Orthodox Pope after the completion of a church in Seven Hills. Carlo was a former president of the Sons of Italy. He loved to sing Italian songs, dance, and play cards. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his family and all whose lives he touched with his kindness and generosity.
Carlo was preceded in death by his daughter, Dianna of Akron; his parents and four brothers, all of Italy. He will be sadly missed by; his wife, Elizabeth and son, Robert of Akron; special nephews, Livio and Paulo Palmieri and their families all of Italy; his special nieces and nephews in Akron, Dina, Joe, and Nicole (Ben); sister-in-law, Josephine Davis; special friends, Dave and Ron (Diana); and his favorite pet, Ziggy.
Visitation will be held at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home at 547 Canton Rd. Akron, Ohio 44312 on Friday, October 15, 2021 from 5 pm to 7 pm. A funeral Mass will be held the following day, Saturday, October 16, 2021 beginning at 10 am at Visitation of Mary Parish at 55 Broad St. Akron, Ohio 44305 with internment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery of Akron.
