Carl R. Stover

Carl R. Stover Carl R. Stover, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on January 14, 2017. Carl was born in Akron, Ohio and graduated from Garfield high school before joining the U.S. Army and serving in the Korean War. He was employed with the Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. for over 36 years. Carl was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and the Masonic Temple in Akron. In his spare time Carl enjoyed playing golf. Preceded in death by his parents, Paul Stover & Helen McClain; and his son, Mike Stover. Carl is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Shirley; children, Paula (Tom) Stover-Avritt, Ralph (Anita) Stover, Doug Stover (Rebecca), and Scott Stover; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and siblings, Kathy (Eduardo) Serrat, and Dave (Bonnie) Stover. Funeral service will be Wednesday, 12 (noon) at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Mogadore. Friends and Family will be received at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to 12 (noon) prior to the service on Wednesday.
