“A life is measured not by its length, but by the love, wisdom, and kindness it leaves behind.” -Unknown

C. Michele MacGregor peacefully entered the embrace of her Heavenly Father on February 26, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with multiple sclerosis. Throughout her life, Michele faced her illness with unwavering strength, a positive spirit, and a determination to live fully. Despite the challenges she endured, she never lost her warmth, humor, or love for those around her. She passed away just days before her 77th birthday, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and joy that touched all who knew her.

Born in Martins Ferry, Ohio, Michele grew up in Tiltonsville and spent most of her life in Lancaster and Uniontown, Ohio. To those closest to her, she was affectionately known as Mickey.

A woman of great intellect and curiosity, Michele earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Wheeling Jesuit College in Wheeling, WV. She dedicated many years to education, teaching at St. Bernadette’s Elementary School in Lancaster. In the 1980s and 1990s, she was a trailblazer in technology education, developing and implementing a curriculum to introduce students to computers and coding.

Michele’s interests and talents were as vast as her kindness. A devoted Catholic and proud Mensa member, she found joy in learning and community. She was active member of the Mighty Oaks MS support group at the Oak Clinic, proving that strength is not just in the body but in the spirit. A gifted writer and poet, she had a deep love for words, whether crafting poetry, dominating a Scrabble board, or getting lost in the pages of a science fiction novel. She was a talented seamstress, a card game enthusiast, a church choir singer, and a lover of bowling, gardening, and time spent with family. In her later years, some of her greatest joys were the family vacations to Lake Erie.

Michele was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Snodgrass; father, Ralph W. Cramer; and brother, William (Bill) Cramer. She is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Cline Jay MacGregor II; daughters, Julia N. Paramonov and Megan M. Tyus; son, Ian C. MacGregor (Stacy L. MacGregor); granddaughter, Anastasia Paramonov; and grandson, Lachlan C. MacGregor.

To honor Michele’s life, donations may be made to the Oak Clinic (https://www.oakclinic.com/donate), which provides specialized care for multiple sclerosis patients, or to the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Foundation (https://my.clevelandclinic.org/locations/akron-general/about/giving), supporting the Challenge Golf program, one of Michele’s favorite activities. Flowers may also be sent to Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale St., Uniontown, OH 44685.
