Ray Dunlap, 89, passed away surrounded by his family on July 21, 2018.
He was born in Akron, Ohio on December 7, 1928 and was a lifelong resident. Ray was a veteran of the Korean War. He served as a Sgt in the US Army, Company “G”, 32nd Infantry. Ray retired from Parson Electric in 1974 where he worked for many years.
Preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Cora Dunlap; sister, Helen; and brother, Kay. Ray leaves behind his loving wife of 59 years, Marjorie; two daughters, Lisa (Doug) Smith and Cathy (Tom) Lamp; five grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Zach Robinson, Jessi (Drew) Fernandez, Dan Grable, Tom Eberz and Heather (Joe) Watson; three great-grandchildren, Wyatt Fernandez, Adam Grable and Mackenzie Watson; brother, Ken (Barb) Dunlap; sister, Delores (Bob) Snader; niece, Robyn Pharr and many other nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his constant companion, a little, white, fluffy dog, CeeCee.
Family and friends will be received Saturday, July 28, 2018, from 12 to 1 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Funeral Service will follow the visitation Saturday, 1 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial at Hillside Memorial Park. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Pegasus Farm (a therapeutic equestrian center), 7490 Edison Street NE, Hartville, Ohio 44632.
