Bud Harold Held

Bud Harold Held, 90, went home to be with the Lord November 4, 2012.

He was born August 14, 1922 in Cardington, Ohio and lived most of his life in the Lakemore/Springfield Township areas. Bud served during WWII in France and Germany and was a retired self-employed brick and block mason. He attended Springfield Fellowship Church and was a longtime member of the Mogadore Boat Club where he spent many days enjoying his friends.

Preceded in death by his wife, Edna; brothers, Walt, Carl and Ernie’ and sisters, Lucille, Ruth and Millie. He is survived by sons, Howard and Buddy (Drema) Held; daughters, Denise Coontz and Susan (Craig) Duncan; grandchildren, Emmalee Coontz, Melissa (Matt) Aguirre and Eric (Amy) Held; great-grandchildren, Caleb and Sarah, Abby and Tyler.

Funeral services will be held Friday 11:00 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44312 with Rev. O. Homer Burket officiating. Burial to follow at Hillside Memorial Park, where Mogadore VFW Post #8487 will conduct military rites. Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. Thursday and from 10:00 a.m. Friday until service time. The family suggests memorials to Springfield Fellowship Church, 830 Ewart Road, Akron, Ohio 44312.
