Beverly J. (Dodson) Newell

Beverly J. (Dodson) Newell, 87, passed away August 11, 2012.

She was born August 7, 1925 in Akron and graduated from East High School. Beverly was a life resident of the area where she was a member of Southeast Church of the Nazarene. She was a devoted homemaker, was “the expert pie baker” and also loved to travel.

Preceded in death by first husband, Perry Dodson. She is survived by her husband, Paul D. Newell; sons, Dennis (Brenda) Dodson of Uniontown, Jeff (Nancy) Dodson of Corning, OH; daughters, Pamela (Ron) Brake and Jill (Rick) Brake, all of Pueblo, CO; stepson, Mark (Lisa) Newell of Salem, OH; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Ralph Wolfe of GA., and Cliff (Joan) Wolfe of OK.

Funeral services will be held Thursday 10:30 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44312 with Dr. George Hazlett and Rev. Kevin Angel officiating. Burial to follow at Hillside Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. Wednesday. The family suggests memorials to the church, 771 Dunbar Road, Tallmadge, Ohio 44278.
