Betty Lou Tyson (Terrell), age 89, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2021.
Born on Christmas Day in 1931, she was a lifetime resident of Akron. Betty graduated from Kenmore High School and retired from Campbell Cleaning Service. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Ohio. She enjoyed puzzles, baking, and reading. Above all, Betty loved spending time with her family. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Betty was preceded in death by her mother, Xenia L. Plant; three brothers; and three sisters. She is survived by her children Deborah (Neil) McGowan, Rebecca (Tim, deceased) Cummings, Victoria Tyson, and John (Virginia) Tyson; grandchildren, Melinda, Erin, Kellie, Melanie, Shawn, Brenna, Christy, Rachel; and great-grandchildren, Tristan, Jordyn, Annica, Carter, Emma, Maddox, Justin, Riley, Patrick, Lucus, Lucy, Logan, Hayden, Lila, and Everly.

Private family services are being held with burial taking place at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
