Betty Sue Stanfield

Together again. Betty Sue Stanfield, age 92, went home to be with the Lord on December 12, 2024. Born in Hickory, NC, she lived in Mogadore, OH since 1968. 

Betty graduated from Akron Central High School in 1950. She was a proud military wife of a career Army soldier. She retired from JCPenney after 34 years. Betty was a member of Community Life Church in Mogadore. Her hobbies were walking, word search puzzles, and watching sports. She enjoyed bible studies, spending time with family, sending cards, and the Haven of Rest Women’s Auxiliary.  

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Mabel Watts; her husband of 53 years, Neil; brother, Bob Watts; and sister, Donna Watts. She is survived by her son, Roy Stanfield; daughter, Joy(Kenny) Rayl; granddaughter, Randi Lynn (Rayl) Korman and husband Chris Korman; great granddaughter, Quinn Madeline Korman; brother, Bud Watts; sisters, Billie(Darro) Cottle, Mona(John) Adorni, and Terrie(Rich) Campailla.

A funeral service will be held Monday, December 16, 2024 at 3 p.m. at Community Life Church in Mogadore. (106 S. Cleveland Ave., Mogadore, OH 44260). The family suggests memorials be made to Haven of Rest Ministries. (P.O. Box 547, Akron, OH 44309).
