Betty R. Slagle

Betty R. Slagle (Nestor) Betty R. Slagle, age 88, passed away July 30, 2014.

She was born in Grafton, W. Va., and lived most of her life in the Akron area. Mrs. Slagle was employed ten years with Royal Crown Bottling Company, retired from Pepsi Bottling Company after 16 years of service, and was a member of Cliff Hockley Post #3532 Auxiliary.

Preceded in death by husband, Alvin; son, Jerry; and brothers, Dale, Richard and Ray. She is survived by son, Bruce (Brenda) Slagle; grandchildren, Shane Slagle(fiancée, Jessica Clements), Trent (Angela) Slagle, Ray (Amber) Rudd, and Nicole Rudd (fiancé, Jason Verner); great-grandchildren, Keirsten, Drake, Kyleigh, Kayden, Brandon, Christian, Kylie, Balie, Roman, Pryce and Baya; sisters-in-law, Vonda Nestor of Akron, Virginia Nestor of Grafton, W. Va.; and sister and brother-in-law, Rosilee and Glenn Bartlett of Grafton, W. Va.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW, UNIONTOWN, Ohio 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.), with Chaplain Charlie Cooper officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to your local Hospice facility.
