Betty Jo Bennett Hill passed away August 5, 2016 at age 86.
Born in Philippi, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Ernie L. Bennett and Dorothy Bradley Bennett Wenrick. On July 1, 1950 she married William G. Hill. She said of him many times, “He made her adult life truly blessed, and gave her life luster for which she was always grateful and his love humbled her.” Betty was a graduate of Belington High School, class of 1946 in West Virginia and graduated from Riggs Lemar Beauty Academy in 1953. She was owner and operator of Hill Top Beauty Salon for 32 years. Betty was a member of the Falls Chapter #245, Order of Eastern Star in Akron, Ohio.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 66 years, William G. Hill; sisters, Lois (Don) Caplinger of Clarksburg, W.Va., Anne Lambert of Bellefonte, Pa.; brothers, Richard (Rose) Wenrick of Hammond, La., William Wenrick of Bellefonte, Pa.; and 30 nephews and nieces who were special.
“I treasure my dear family and friends, please watch between us while we are apart.” She would like to be remembered as a gentle, kind person to others. Betty’s family would like to express their thanks to the staff of Summa Hospice for their special care.
Calling hours for friends and family will be held at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44312 on Tuesday, from 5 to 7 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m. with Pastor Jodi Hill officiating. Burial to follow.
