Betty L. Gombert (Woodling)

November 2, 1922 — March 22, 2016

Betty L. Gombert, age 93, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2016 and went home to be with the Lord. 

Born in Akron, she lived in the Akron/Mogadore area all of her life. Betty retired from the Administration department of Kent State University after 25 years of service. She was a devoted member of Mogadore United Methodist Church for more than 60 years where she had served as organist, and was also a member of the Toastmasters Club. Betty enjoyed cooking and quilting. 

Preceded in death by her husband, Fred in 1993, she is survived by her sons, Terry and Glenn (Wanda); daughter, Sue Donohue; grandchildren, Patrick, Jameson, Carolyn and Essa Gombert, Heather and Shawn Donohue; great-grandchildren, Noah and Wyatt Donohue; and brother, Gerald (Marilyn) Woodling. 

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 26, 2 p.m. at Mogadore United Methodist Church, 3828 Mogadore Road, Mogadore, Ohio 44260 with Rev. Pamela Gable officiating. Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the service, from 1 to 2 p.m. The family suggests memorials to her church.
