Betty L. Bibey, 94, went peacefully and joyously to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 after a long and meaningful life. Known for her positive outlook and strong faith, Betty inspired everyone she met.
She leaves her legacy in sons Phillip G. Bibey and Bradley R. Bibey, daughter Lisa D. Mohler, brother, Ira S. Wilmoth, sister, Helen Martin, sons-and daughters-in-law, nieces, and nephews as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her spouse, Fred D. Bibey, Jr.; son Lowell A. Shaffer; and daughters, Janet L Stevens and Joyce K. Booth.
Born in Belington, W. Va. on December 24, 1924, Betty graduated high school in 1943 and married Fred on February 24, 1949. They moved to Akron, Ohio shortly thereafter. Lifelong, founding members of The Hillwood Chapel, the Bibey’s raised their family and made many friends.
Fred and Betty loved travelling and made several trips to Florida while living in Ohio. In later years, close family Nathanael and Carol Mohler moved to Florida and invited Betty to visit regularly during the winter months which she enthusiastically did for several years. Daughter Lisa and husband Jeff moved to Florida permanently in 2011 and Betty followed one year later in her own home. Retirement was great.
Betty is returning to northeast Ohio for her final resting place next to Fred. The family will receive friends for calling hours at the Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home in Uniontown, Ohio Tuesday July 2, 2019 from 4 to 8 p.m. A graveside service will be held Wednesday morning at Hillside Memorial Park at 10:30 a.m.
