Bert William Orban

Bert William Orban passed away on June 10, 2019 at the age of 92. He was born January 13, 1927 to Bertalan and Margaret (Berish) Orban in Vintondale, PA. He graduated from Penn State University in 1953 where he participated in wrestling and boxing. He was awarded best all-around athlete of the year in 1951. He served in the US Army from 1945-1946. He married Shirley Smith of Lowellville, Ohio on August 30, 1953. Bert enjoyed gardening, tennis, playing euchre, hiking, and his daily visits to Arby’s. He was preceded in death by his wife of 21 years, Shirley (Smith); sister, Margaret Orban; and son, Bert Michael Orban. Loving father of Debbie (Dave) Stewart, Mark Orban and Denise (Steve) Lutz. Grandfather to Brian (Kayleigh) Stewart, Kristen (Mike) Bellar, Staci (Joel) Wages, Stephen (Leann) Lutz, Kathy Orban, Michael Orban and great grandfather to Gia Stewart, McKenna Stewart, Riley Stewart, Brock Bellar, Sydney Lutz, Parker Wages, Aiden Stewart, and Lola Wages. Bert will always be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, philanthropist, friend and veteran. His memory will live on in us forever.
