Bernadine B. White

Bernadine B. White, age 89, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2015 and is now with the Lord.

Born in Morgantown, W.Va., she graduated from Weston High School in West Virginia in 1944, and lived in the Akron area for the past 70 years. Bernadine retired from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in 1986 after 18 years of service. She enjoyed bowling and quilting, as well as camping and boating with her husband, and had attended Clearview United Methodist Church for many years.

Above all, Bernadine’s greatest joy was being a wife, mother and grandmother, and she loved time spent with her family. Preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Winnie and French West; and her grandparents, she is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 70 years, Joseph; son, Larry (Mary) White; daughter, Sharon (Lloyd) Filler; grandchildren, Andrew (Julie) White, Brian (Jen) White, and Melissa (Doug) Eisenbrandt; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Monday, 1 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron, Ohio 44312 with Pastor Linda Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time on Monday. The family suggests memorials to Senior Independence Hospice, 1815 W.
