Bernadette M. Stalter

"Together Again" Bernadette M. Stalter, age 87, of Mogadore, passed away on October 30, 2015. 

She was born April 1, 1928 in Suffield, Ohio to Edith and Robert Trares. Bernadette attended St. Joseph Catholic School and graduated from Mogadore High School after the family moved to Mogadore in the 40’s. She was a founding member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church where she met her husband Joseph. 

Bernadette was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph Stalter; and sister, Rita Burtscher. She is survived by her children, Rita (Rod) Sabot and Stephen (Joan) Stalter; grandchildren, Janelle, Mary, Susan and Joseph; brother, Robert (Marcie) Trares; as well as all of her loving nieces and nephews. Bernadette’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Annette, Michele, Bob and Mike for their compassionate care that allowed Mom to remain in her home. The family thanks hospice nurse, Linda and Dr. Mark Smith for their support and guidance which helped us provide the best care for Mom in her final years. 

Family and friends will be received Thursday, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 34 S. Cleveland Avenue (Route 532), MOGADORE, Ohio, 44260. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2643 Waterloo Road, Mogadore, Ohio 44260, with Father Thomas Acker, S.J. presiding. Procession will originate at the church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph School, 2617 Waterloo Road, Mogadore, Ohio 44260.
