Benjamin J. Hymes

September 20, 1955 — April 22, 2016

Benjamin Jackson Hymes, Jr. “Ben”, age 60, went home to be with the Lord on April 22, 2016. 

Born in Akron, Ohio, he was a lifetime area resident. Ben graduated from Kenmore High School. He retired from UPS after 30 years of service and was a member of Teamsters Local 348. Ben loved baseball but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. 

Preceded in death by his parents, Mary T. “Betty” and Benjamin “Jack” Hymes, Sr.; grandparents, Harry and Mary Collmar; Ben is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Kimberly “Kim” Hymes; sons, Benjamin (Christine) Hymes III, Brock (Jennifer) Hymes and Bryce Hymes; daughter, Tabitha (Jacen) Geier; grandchildren, Joey, Jackson, Kimmie, Ben IV, Will, Anna, Brock Jr., Ricky, Shelby, Jesse and Gavin; brothers and sisters, Tom (Darla) Hymes, Bruce Hymes, Fred (Angie) Hymes, Theresa Byder, Patty (Brent) Darlington, Joseph (Barbie) Hymes and Jill (Terry) Hummel. 

Friends and family will be received Tuesday, April 26th, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW, UNIONTOWN, Ohio 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.) Funeral service will be Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at the Apostolic Church of Barberton, 1717 Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Barberton, Ohio 44203, with Pastor Rod Pamer officiating. Friends and family will be received one hour prior to the service, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at the church on Wednesday. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Uniontown.
