Becky S. Congrove, 60, passed away March 15, 2012 after a short illness.
Born in Akron, Becky was a life resident of the area, and was employed as the office manager at the Summit Center of Behavioral Sciences for 12 years. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church.
Preceded in death by her mother, Edna; and mother-in-law, Nana, she is survived by her husband of 40 years, Bill; daughters, Amy Congrove of Akron, Gina (Eric) McNeill of Wadsworth, and Abby Congrove of Akron; grandson, Cole; brother, David Thorpe of Mencino, Calif,; and sister, Maryann Roebuck of Tallmadge.
Becky was a loving and supportive wife. To her daughters, she was not only a mom, but also a friend, shopping buddy, and confidant. As a grandma, she took an active role in Cole's life, never missing an opprtunity to show support. Her friends were an important part of her life, and she enjoyed monthly breakfast with them. Becky will be dearly missed by all.
Funeral service will be held Monday, 10 a.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44312, with Father Joe Labak officiating. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. The family suggests memorials to the Palliative Care Unit of Akron City Hospital, 525 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44309.
