Beatrice R. Green

Beatrice R. Green, age 92, passed away on February 10, 2016 and earned her wings in Heaven, leaving us with the loss of our best friend. 

Born in Akron on May 9, 1923, she was a life resident of the area. Beatrice was employed by John Mazzola Interiors and as the Administrative Secretary of Laborers Local #894. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She never met a person she couldn’t make smile. Everyone loved Bea – to know her was to love her, and your life was enriched by her infectious smile and sense of humor, which she never lost. 

Preceded in death by her husband, El Green; and brothers, John and Herbert Dawson, she is survived by her devoted son, Chuck of Akron; and daughter, Linda (Richard) Farwell of Akron; grandchildren, Richard Green of Akron, Taunya (George) Tomko of Copley, Ashlee Hicks of Portage Lakes, and Richard (Lindsay) Farwell of Creston; loving great grandchildren, Chelsea and Tyler, who were raised by her and helped to care for her, and Jordan, Owen, Taylor, Cade and Olivia; and nieces, nephews and friends. We are grateful to all the doctors and nurses who gave her such wonderful care throughout her journey into God’s loving arms. 

Friends and family will be received Monday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312, where funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Beatrice’s family in care of the funeral home.
