Arvella Dye McDaniel “Belle”, 86, passed away February 21, 2013.
Born in Cabins, West Virginia, she lived in the Springfield Township area for over 40 years. Arvella was a foster mother of 97 children over the years, and was a member of Fairhaven Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, James Dye; and grandson, Larson, she is survived by her husband of 14 years, Harley McDaniel; sons, Leonard (Lonnie) Dye, Denny (Donna) Dye, and Carl Shumway; daughters, Jamie Woods and Joyce (John) Hogue; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Russell; and sisters, Mickey and Annie. The family would like to extend special thanks to Bonnie Klusty and staff of Bonnie’s Home Healthcare for their wonderful care.
Funeral service will be Monday, 11 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44312, with Rev. James Ellis officiating. Entombment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 10 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be made to Fairhaven Baptist Church, 3575 Tisen Road, Akron, OH 44312.
