Ardelia "Dee" Schapiro ("Oma")

Ardelia Schapiro, age 81, passed away on August 28, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Oklahoma, she was raised in Pomona, Calif. prior to moving to northeast Ohio, where she and her husband lived for the last 60 years. Ardelia enjoyed camping and ceramics, and was a loving mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Bernhard J., who passed away in early August; and daughter, Karen Schapiro in 1976; she is survived by son, Gregory (Lynne); daughters, April (Allen) Sutton, and Kathy (Gerhard) Schmidt; grandchildren, Kara, Michael, Kristy, Mark, David, Eric, Bryan, Kaily, Jeffrey, Erin and Jenny; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jillian, Tyler, Kylie, Nicholas, Allison, Benjamin and Naomi; and several brothers and sisters. The family would like to thank Annie, Renee and Lisa, and the Summa Hospice Team.

Funeral service will be Saturday, 4 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale St. NW, UNIONTOWN, Ohio 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.), with Pastor Harold Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at Uniontown Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until service time Saturday. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Summa, 444 N.
