Ann peacefully entered into eternal rest on June 1, 2014.

She was born in Maynard, Ohio and lived in Akron for over 70 years. Ann was both a homemaker and a realtor with the Sanders Home Corporation. In 1981, she received the Woman of the Year Award from the Rubber City Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association of which she was a member for over 35 years. In 1994, she was awarded Woman of the Year by the St. Matthew’s Council of Catholic Women. In 2004, she received the Spark Plug Award from St. Matthew’s Church for her hours of exemplary service in the parish.

Ann was a faithful and devoted member of St. Matthew for over 56 years. For over 25 years, she was an active member of the baking committee, chairing many of those years. Her nut, poppy seed and apricot roll recipes became famous at the Happy Holly Days Bazaar, and they continue to be used today. This event was so successful an article in the Akron Beacon Journal was written. She also served on the Funeral Luncheon Committee.

Preceded in death by her husband, Morris, of 49 years; brothers, John, Frank, Walter and Edward; and sister, Catherine. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Carol of New Franklin, Ohio, David and Michele of Bettendorf, Iowa; son, Randall of East Hampton, NY; grandchildren, Debbie, Kathy, Donald, Michael, Emily; great grandchildren, Scott, Sarah, Tyler, Nathan, Jacob, Cayleigh and Nicole.

Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery followed by a bereavement luncheon at St. Matthew Parish. Finally, a special heartfelt thanks to the entire staff at Sunrise Senior Living of Cuyahoga Falls and Harbor Light Hospice for their unending display of love, compassion, and care during our mother’s 2 1/2 year residency.
