Anna “Carol” Baker, age 86, passed away peacefully October 12, 2018.
She was born in Wise, Virginia to her parents, Victor and Leotha Reece and had been a lifelong resident of the Akron area. Carol had worked in the restaurant business most of her life, was employed at Guy’s Party Center for many years, and retired from the Ido Bar and Grill. Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend was a wonderful cook who loved preparing meals for her family and many others. Carol was known as a “tough little firecracker” who was loved very much and will be deeply missed.
Preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; sons, Terry and Joe; sister, Janet Ferrell; and granddaughter, Jenny Baker. She is survived by sons, Dennis and Steve (Marcy); daughter, Vickie (Larry) Hummel; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brothers, Ronald, Donald and Gary Reece.
The Baker Family would like to thank the staff of both the Western Reserve Hospice and Green Village Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation for their love and care of Carol.
Family and friends will be received Thursday, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Funeral Service will follow visitation Thursday, 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Private inurnment will take place at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
