Angelina Grimaldi

Angelina Grimaldi, age 89, went home to be with the Lord on August 28, 2015. 

A life resident of Akron, she graduated from North High School and the University of Akron. Angelina retired from St. Thomas Hospital in 1991 after working in the Medical Library. She was a longtime member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Angelina also enjoyed playing the piano, singing opera and reading, and was an avid bridge player. 

Preceded in death by her husband, Michael; parents, Pete and Mary Valentino; and grandson, Anthony Grimaldi. She is survived by sons, Mike (Becky), Dave (Bonnie), Nick (Cheri), Bob (Juli) and Matt; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Pete Valentino; and sister, Theresa Bonato. 

Family and friends will be received Monday, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home Tuesday at 10 a.m. with Father Michael Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to “The Anthony M. Grimaldi Scholarship Fund” at Archbishop Hoban High School.
