Alphious “Clark” Stouffer, Jr. (Al)
Alphious “Clark” Stouffer, Jr., 89, passed away peacefully at home on November 14, 2017, surrounded by his family. Clark was born on September 8, 1928, in Pikeville, Tennessee. He graduated from East High School and the University of Akron and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company with 38 years of service. He received the Litchfield Award from Goodyear in 1954. After retiring from Goodyear, Clark worked for 29 years at various McDonald`s franchises and was honored as Outstanding McDonald`s Employee of the Region in 2005. He was a Master Mason for over 50 years and attended the Bath United Church of Christ.
Clark was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Theresa Stouffer; parents, Alphious and Mildred Stouffer; brothers, John Stouffer and William Stouffer. He is survived by brother, Larry (Anne); sister, Julia (Jim) Miller; children, Allen (Sharlene) Stouffer, Gary (Linda) Stouffer, Nancy (Ken) Young, and Linda Page Truan; grandchildren (who called him Papoo), Scott (Maura) Stouffer, Jennifer (Alex) Meillat, Mark (Bree) Young, Jillian (Andrew) Cameron, Kenny Young (Jenna Brinker), Michael Stouffer, Kara (Jason) Schlegel, Jenna (Nathan) Cook, Matthew (Bridget) Stouffer, and Nicholas Malicoat; great-grandchildren, Anna, Owen, Allison, and Oliver Meillat, Roman and Roxanne Young, and Seona and Ram Schlegel; many nieces, nephews, and other family members including special nephew David (Linda) Bailey; caring friends and neighbors.
Calling hours will be on Sunday, November 19, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio 44312. There will be a private burial. The family would like to thank Ohio Living Home Health and Hospice for their excellent care with special thanks to nurse, Tracy Hammer and home health aide, Greg Whitman.
