Alice "Marie" McConnell

Alice “Marie” McConnell, age 91, passed away on October 29, 2015.
Born in Akron, she was a graduate of East High School and lived part of her life in Barberton. Marie retired from the Hoover Company after 20 years of service. She was a loving mother and artist whose hobbies included painting and dancing. Marie also enjoyed traveling, gardening and spending time with her friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, Elmer W. and Katherine L. Jones; sons, John Weston and Michael Edward; husband, William D. McConnell; and sister, Katherine Williams, Marie is survived by her son, James Connell; daughter, Patricia Matthews; grandchildren, Noelle Connell, Tamara Futrell, Joseph Cenker, Jessica Cleaver and Shawna Briley; great-grandchildren, Kylee Cleaver, Kendyl Cleaver, Abigail Briley, Kenny Futrell, Nathan Futrell, Matthew Futrell and Ashley Futrell; and great-great-granddaughter, Carmella Futrell.
Cremation has taken place. Private family services will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made in her name to Meals on Wheels.
