Alice M. DeHaven

MOGADORE -- Alice M. DeHaven, age 90, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Drummond Island, Mich., she had lived in Mogadore since 1961. Alice was a member of Northwest Avenue Church of Christ, where she enjoyed her Sunday School class, the “Young at Hearts”, Bible Studies, and her friends at church. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and enjoyed attending all of her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. Alice was a wonderful seamstress, and her family has beautiful quilts, afghans and handmade gifts to cherish her memory. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. Preceded in death by her husband, Donald in 1987, she is survived by sons, Darrel (Linda) and Billy; daughters, Cheryl (Don) Backus and Susan (John) Gerbec; grandchildren, Kelly, Stacey, Tonya, Cortney, Erich, Billy, Christopher, Cherie, Jordan and Crystal; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Christina Domke; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral service will be Tuesday, 7 p.m. at Northwest Avenue Church of Christ, 737 Northwest Ave., Tallmadge, OH 44278, with Pastors Scott Baker and Michael Shaub officiating. Private burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 5:30 p.m. until service time Tuesday. Memorials are suggested to the church.
