Agnes Jess "Doris" Cocklin

Agnes Jess "Doris" Cocklin, 86, passed from this life on Earth on November 19, 2013 to start her new life in the presence of the Lord with her son and family at her bedside.

Born in Paisley, Scotland, Doris lived in the Akron/Greentown areas and graduated from East High School in 1945. She was employed with the Hoover Co. for 37 years before retiring in 1988 and was a member of The Gospel Hall.

Preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Virgil O.; sisters, Sarah Donnan and Helen Ann Jess. She is survived by son, Douglas N. of Canton; granddaughters, Lisa (Steven) Dutter of Chesapeake, Virginia and Laura Williams of Canton, Ohio; grea-grandchildren, Melissa and Allison Dutter and Benjamin Williams; sister, Marion E. (Robert) Bell of Dewitt, Michigan; and special friends, Frances and Keith Swinehart of North Canton, Ohio.

Visiting Thursday, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street, Uniontown, Ohio 44685 (One block northwest of the square of 619 and Cleveland Ave.)and on Friday, one hour prior to the service, from 10 to 11 a.m.  Funeral service Friday, 11 a.m., at the funeral home with Mr. Paul Glenney officiating.  Entombment at Hillside Memorial Park.  The family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
