Agnes K. "Aggie" Willis

Agnes K. Willis “Aggie”, 88, went home to be with the Lord March 25, 2014.

Born in Amherst, Ohio Aggie lived in the Akron area most of her life. Creative and young at heart, she enjoyed making candies, decorating cakes and was the owner of Kiddie Candies. Aggie was a former member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church and a current member of Arlington Church of the Nazarene. Not only did Aggie love spending time with her friends from church, customers at her store and friends at the Internet Café, she also enjoyed playing checkers and other competitive games.

Preceded in death by husband, Harry Charles Willis; son-in-law, Charles Mellor; three brothers; one sister; she is survived by her daughters, JoAnne Mellor, Joyce Kelly-Leighton and Jane (Ron) Day; grandchildren, Christina and Courtney Day; sisters, Erva Palmer, Josephine Thompson and Beverly Forster. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Hospice Care Center.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, 11 a.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44312 with Pastor Darrell Frazier officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday, one hour prior to the service, from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to your local animal welfare society.
