Glenn Maranville, age 84, passed away April 22, 2012 at Select Hospital in Canton.
A lifetime resident of the area he retired from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company as Manager, Corporate Personnel Staff after 42 years of service.
Glenn was a member of the Hartville Church of the Brethren, North Canton Elks Lodge #2029, Cuyahoga Falls Lodge #187 F. & AM, American Legion Post #0436; Greentown and N. Canton Eagles Lodge #2223. He enjoyed golf, bowling, and was an avid fisherman, spending his summers at his place in Canada on the Trent River at Cole’s Point.
He was active in volunteer work at Akron Children’s Hospital and with the Community Care Services in Campbellford, Ontario.
He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Karla and John Wood; sons and daughters-in-law, Matt and Sonia, Jeff and Chrystal Maranville; and 13 grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held Thursday 11:00 a.m. at the Hartville Church of the Brethren, 353 Crestmont Avenue SW, Hartville, Ohio 44632 with Pastor Tom Michaels officiating. Burial at Mt. Peace Cemetery in Hartville. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street Uniontown, Ohio 44685 (1 block NW of the square of 619 and Cleveland Avenue) and from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until service time at the church.
